Water Missions International is a nonprofit, engineering organization serving the water and sanitation needs of people in developing countires and disaster areas. WMI uses low-maintenance, appropriate water technologies for drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater management and storm water control.
Founded in 2007 by the late actor Paul Newman and a board of civic and business leaders, Safe Water Network’s mission is to be an active catalyst and sector leader in the development of sustainable, scalable market-based solutions that deliver safe, affordable drinking water to the world’s poor. Safe Water Network is mobilizing partnerships, resources and funding necessary to develop and demonstrate new and improved solutions - technologies, systems and operating and funding models - to improve the health and livelihoods of impacted populations.
The Ecological Management Foundation (EMF) is a public benefit charity in the water sector, dedicated to improving access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities in developing countries. Since its founding by Allerd Stikker in 1990, EMF has built a solid track record in initiating water solution projects, raising public awareness and stimulating innovative water technologies. EMF identifies, promotes and incubates small-scale projects that are innovative, practical, solution-oriented and have a broad impact on the target country.
The WateReuse Research Foundation provides information on the safety and quality of reclaimed and recycled water, and provides water professionals with the tools and knowledge to meet their commitment of increasing the reliability and quality of the water supplies of nations around the world. The Foundation's research covers a broad spectrum of issues, including chemical contaminants, microbiological agents, treatment technologies, salinity management, public perception, economics and marketing.
Founded in 1981, Compatible Technology International (CTI) invents, builds and distributes extremely affordable post-harvest and water purification technologies that help the world's most impoverished people stay healthy and feed themselves with greater predictability and nutrition.
CTI’s main goals are to design food and water technologies that are sustainable and appropriate to local cultures and collaborate with in-country organizations to identify needs and to achieve widespread use of our technologies.
Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA) consists of professionals and students from a variety of professions working together to support community-driven development programs worldwide. EWB-USA collaborates with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders.
